After a terrible start of the season, with 7 defeats in a row, Real Madrid Castilla lies in the last place of Spanish second division table. The reasons are pretty straight-forward: their offensive wonder trio of last year (Jese, Morata and Cheryshev) are gone and no replacements have been brought. This year squad is much weaker and the results show that.  However, last week they’ve managed to beat Lugo at home (2-0) with a new tactical move from coach Toril. After scoring only two goals after the first seven matches, he decided not to field any striker against Lugo and play instead with AM Benavente as false nº9. The experiment resulted and the first 3 points of the season were taken.  It won’t be possible to repeat the same starting XI as Benavente is not available but also the surprise effect is gone anyway.  RM Castilla home record this season is 1-0-3 and goal record is 3-4. For this match they have several important absentees: Quini, Derek and Raul de Tomas are injured while first GK Pacheco, Rozzi and the above mentioned 

Benavente are tied up in international duty.

Recre is in the other end of the table as they are alone on top with an impressive 6-1-1 record.  They are on an amazing streak of 5 wins in a row and their only lost game was away with Alcorcon after being reduced to 10 men 40 minutes played into the match.  Recre’s away record is pretty strong nevertheless: 3-0-1. They look pretty solid with only 2 goals conceded in the last 5 matches and with strikers Arana and Linares having scored 5 and 4 goals respectively since the beginning of the season. For this match, coach Sergi Barjuan has almost a full squad to choose from having only to cope with the missing of LB Vega due to injury. Morcillo will probably replace him.

I would also like to add that the only 2 fixtures played between these teams in Madrid ended up with 2 wins for Recre. Despite all the statistical and analytical data pointing to Recre being considered favourites odds suggest otherwise. I don’t agree with this and strongly believe that lines are wrongly placed. My call: 1-2
