In the battle for the last spot in the relegation playoffs this is a do or die game for both teams. Roda JC can close the gap to one point, RKC Waalwijk can play themselves save by winning. Last week Roda JC sold themselves short in the first half against Willem II, missing several clear chances to take the lead. In the second half they paid the price as Willem II scored twice, once after a free kick and scramble in the box and one from a very questionable penalty kick. For Roda JC a lot depends on their “airforce”, strikers Malki and Demouge, they divided twelve of last fifteen goals between them.
RKC Waalwijk also conceded a dubious penalty just before half time away at Heracles. In the second half RKC missed two good chances but they lost believe when Heracles scored a second goal, final result a 4-0 loss. RKC only managed to win one away game this season, back in November. Defender and captain van Peppen will return after suspension, midfielder Sneijder is injured.
One thing is sure, Roda JC will do anything to win this crucial game. Roda JC will put pressure on the RKC defense from the very first minute, probably with a lot of high balls aimed at strong Demouge. The RKC strikers aren’t in a very confident state of mind, so I believe most value is in betting on a home win.
