RB Leipzig are having a great run in Europe considering that this is their debut continental campaign. Indeed, their meteoric rise up the German ranks may have brought a lot of domestic criticism, but there is no doubt that they are an ever improving side full of talent.

The weekend saw them pick up a thrilling 3-2 win away to Hannover in the Bundesliga, extending their unbeaten streak to six matches in all competitions and leaving them 4th in the table, just two points behind Borussia Dortmund above them.

In Europa they were eliminated from the Champions League in the group stages, something which you can’t really hold against them considering their group included Besiktas, Porto, and Monaco. Their 3rd place finish did grant them passage to the Europa League knockout rounds though, and so far they have beaten Napoli on away goals and Zenit 3-2 on aggregate.

Marseille also have a couple of impressive Europa League results to their name. The Ligue 1 side have beaten Braga 3-1 and Athletic Bilbao 5-2 on aggregate so far, after finishing 2nd in their group at the end of 2017.

Their domestic form has improved recently too. They beat Dijon 3-1 on Saturday to make it four wins from their last five games, but defensively they do have some real issues that could do with being solved. They haven’t kept a clean sheet in any competition since the middle of February, conceding 15 goals in their nine outings since.

RB Leipzig have a similar record, with a clean sheet in just one of their last ten competitive games and in one of their last ten at home as well. Of course, they have scored in nine of these ten games, and given Marseille’s defensive record you would expect them to find the net on Thursday.

Away from home Marseille have conceded in each of their last seven matches, and considering RB Leipzig’s recent record backing Both Teams to Score here looks a very good option. Marseille have lost three of their last six on the road though, so we’re also looking at RB Leipzig to Win and Both Teams to Score along with a 2-1 correct score predictions.

Timo Werner is the main man for the hosts. The 22 year old attacker has six goals in Europe this season, including three in his four Europa League ties. This,a long with his 11 Bundesliga goals, makes him a perfect choice for our anytime goalscorer predictions.
