PICK OF THE DAY
Norwich - Brentford
Tip : 3+ (over 2.5)
Odd : 1.65
FT :1:2 WIN!!!
Only Birmingham have taken fewer
points from their last 8 Championship games than Norwich City but the
Canaries would have taken confidence from a convincing 3-1 win over
Sheffield Wednesday in their most recent outing at Carrow Road. With
Brentford in town goals look likely here as both sides look to put good
runs together over the festive period, which could yet lift themselves
into play-off contention.
There
is certainly pressure on Daniel Farke to do that at Norwich. His side
are currently down in 16th, nowhere near good enough given the quality
of players he has at his disposal. 3 points could move them as high as
11th here though, so there’s plenty of incentive to go and chase the
win.
Inconsistency has
plagued the Canaries all season and you can never be quite sure what to
expect from them. They are more than capable of asking plenty of
questions of Brentford and winning this game but with just a 27% home
win ratio this term, it’s probably advisable to stay away from the
Full-Time result market here.
Brentford
aren’t exactly the most predictable side either but their matches do
usually produce goals. 41% of their league games this term have seen
over 3.5 goals scored with Bees matches averaging 2.86 goals in total.
Those figures would both be higher were it not for quite a slow start to
the season by their standards.
They’ve
looked much more convincing in the final third in recent months though,
scoring twice or more in 5 of their last 8 matches. Defensively they
are vulnerable though with 7 goals conceded in their last 3 away
matches, including a poor 3-2 defeat at struggling Hull City, which
highlighted the cracks that do exist at times.
Norwich
have players capable of exploiting those problems. They will be hoping
that their win over Wednesday will prove a turning point in terms of
their problems at home and they are likely to try and get on the front
foot early on here. We should see a good game of football and given
there have been over 2.5 goals could be well worth
considering here.
In terms
of the scoreline, taking a chance on Norwich to Win 3-1 again looks
pretty good. Both teams have scored in 59% of Brentford games this
season while 55% of matches at Carrow Road have produced goals at both
ends. Certainly, an away goal looks likely but if the Canaries can hit
the heights they reached last time out at home, they look the more
likely victors.
