Burnley once again proved their defensive credentials at the weekend as they became the first team this season to stop Watford scoring twice away from home. In fact, they stopped the Hornets getting a goal at all, and Scott Arfield’s goal was enough to give the hosts a valuable three points at Turf Moor.

The Clarets continue to impress this season, and the steps they have made since last term are absolutely huge. They have won five of their last seven games in the Premier League and find themselves up in 7th position with 28 points from their 16 games so far. It’s not beyond the realms of possibility that they could break into the top four at some point this season, which would have seemed unthinkable when they ended last season with just a single away victory all year.

Stoke, on the other hand, are abjectly failing to impress. They were absolutely hammered at Wembley on Saturday, losing 5-1 to Tottenham to put them straight back to losing ways after their win over Swansea the weekend before.

This leaves The Potters down in 15th position, only three points clear of the drop zone after West Ham’s shock win over Chelsea. They have won just one of their last six matches in the Premier League and have lost three of the last four, and now come up against one of the hardest to beat sides in the league.

At Turf Moor Burnley have lost just twice this season, and one of those was all the way back in gameweek two. Since then they have won four, drawn two, and lost one of their seven matches, and that singular defeat came rather undeservedly as Arsenal scored a late winner in November.

Stoke have only managed one away win this season as well, losing five of their eight games in total and conceding a huge 20 goals in the process. Given both sides’ form at the moment, backing a Burnley win looks fantastic value for money. Considering the hosts have kept a clean sheet in all four of their home wins and conceded a total of just three goals at Turf Moor, we’re also going for a Burnley Win to Nil along with a 2-0 correct score predictions.
