Both sides have defensive deficiencies and while that doesn’t always translate into goals I think the sheer manner of the way both sides will be looking to win I think that will equate to a few goals in this one. Liverpool have shown all year that they are naive defensively and there is no side as naive at the back as Arsenal so the attacking players should be the ones to star with goals in this game.

Great news for the 'betisismo'! It was announced yesterday, Pepe Mel will be the new coach of the team! After 385 and 4 managers, Mel is taking over as head coach again, and according to many people in Sevilla, the team wouldn't have collapsed during the last season with him in command. Escaping relegation would be a miracle though even if Mel had retained position. The point is that Mel is back in the team and will take over in Christmas break. This will be the last game of Merino in the bench. With him Betis recovered confidence and table position and with the morale sky high, Betis can get into another victory. Right back Molinero and defensivemid Torres are out, both regulars, but Betis have the potential to cover.
On the other hand, Racing traveled once again without their best player and top scorer, Kone. Without him Racing are too innocent offensively, really harmful for their opponents and last week they should have been defeated at home to a superior Sporting de Gijon outfit. Francis LB remains out. When traveleing away from home, Racing set their priorities in defense. They play strong in the back and offensively they try to take advantage of Kone's velocity. This is why Kone is so important to the team. Last week, Paco Fernandez tried to play offensively in the last 20 minutes and almost paid the price with Sporting wasting a couple scoring opportunities to win. This means that if Betis takes the lead then and Racing goes up to equalize, it will be easy for Betis to score a few more.
Therfor I am taking the -1 handicap on Betis.
