Hosts took the early lead in third minute, while even then neither of the teams wanted to risk much, as Nimes knew they are playing against a strong opponent and weren’t willing to risk conceding more goals. Now, it’s still to be seen how the players will react after the defeat, as everybody were talking about constant rise before the game against Caen. The atmosphere however is very good and generally, the team plays very good and attacking football at most of their matches this season.
Komlan Amewou (18/0) defensive midfielder completed his international obligations at African Cup of Nations, but will not be available for this game, as the club decided to give him some rest. Home side has no other worries regarding lineup.
Laval is coming from a 4:5 loss at home against Auxerre, in probably the most interesting game of Ligue 2 till now this season. Although the score was 2:0 at 41st minute of the game, they went with 2:2 at the half-time. Even so, only five minutes in the second half-time and the hosts were up once again, 3:2.
Once again, even so, it didn’t help much to Laval, as Auxerre continued playing open football and sealed a victory just three minutes before the full time whistle. Atmosphere in Laval is very poor at the moment as the team counts eight matches without a victory, but even worse is that they are not getting the right results even when playing good. They are one points away from the safe zone, but with a 0-3-5 record in last eight matches, none is too optimistic regarding their future. Jerome Lebouc (10/2) striker is the only important absentee for this game, while the coach announced he might make some changes in defensive lineup.
Overall, Nimes seems much more superior, especially playing at home and should take another victory to extend their promotional hopes.
