PICK OF THE DAY
Juventus - Milan
Tip : 1
Odd : 1.90
FT : 4:0 WIN!!!
Juventus all but secured the league title this weekend, which is a fantastic way for them to go in to Wednesday night’s Coppa Italia final. The Old Lady lured us in to believing in a title race for the second week in a row, as they fell behind at home to Bologna. However, they roared back to win 3-1 in Turin, before Napoli drew 2-2 with Torino to slip six points behind the leaders. With a comfortable lead in terms of points and goal difference, Juve are now set for a seventh straight league title.
The champions are aiming to win the league and cup double for the fourth straight season under Max Allegri, who has led the club to all of those successes since taking charge in 2014. While their Champions League campaign is over, they’ve still pushed for domestic dominance, with Napoli chasing them down in the league. AC Milan are the opposition in Rome on Wednesday, with Gennaro Gattuso aiming to cap off his first year in charge of the Rossoneri with a victory.
Milan have returned to form of late, winning back to back games after meeting Bologna and Verona. However, that came after a league low – a 1-0 loss at home to bottom side Benevento. That’s not a great way to warm up for this huge clash, especially against a side who have big game experience. The champions have three final victories under their belts of late, and they’ve shown their talents in huge European encounters. Meanwhile, AC Milan have a young squad, which could play in to the favourite’s hands.
Juventus have beaten Milan home and away this term, and the champions have won four straight meetings with the Rossoneri. We expect that to become five on Wednesday night. Gattuso’s men have lost four of their five trips to sides above them, while they’ve looked vulnerable since their Europa League loss against Arsenal ended their unbeaten start to 2018.
Juventus have gone from strength to strength this year, and they’re aiming to continue that form this week. They may have fallen behind in their last two, but they rallied to pull off two impressive wins, including a victory over Inter at San Siro. The Old Lady have beaten all of the top six sides they’ve faced away from home this term, and they should earn another win in the Stadio Olimpico. We think Juve are well priced for a win, so we’re backing them to win the cup in normal time, along with a 2-0 correct score
