PICK OF THE DAY
Deportivo - Villareal
Tip : 2
Odd : 1.90
FT : 2:4 WIN!!!
Deportivo La Coruna actually surprised decently last Saturday afternoon when the team took a point in a 1:1 draw away from home against Celta Vigo. However, it should be said that the guests actually didn't deserve that point so much.
Players of Celta looked better at the start and took the lead in thirteenth minute via goal from Gomez - remaining better and maybe missing couple of chances to double up the result and came close to the victory. They looked more dominant in second too, but as the time progressed tried to preserve their lead and in the and paid the price of it.
Deportivo was willing to risk more towards the end and got awarded with an equalizer from Perez in first minute of additional time. It was a positive result for them no question about this, but the team remains without a victory in last four matches. They have relegated anyway from LaLiga and can't move on the table, only remaning to play this one for the sake of their reputation and for their fans.
Hosts should be set up playing in 4-3-1-2 formation with Lopez and Perez as forwards, plus Valle as offensive midfielder. Central defender Fabian Schar (25/2) is suspended. Other central defender Sidnei (21/1) shouldn't be risked here following injury, while sidelined also remains right full back Eneko Boveda (8/0). Offensive midfielder Emre Colak (25/1) is not fully fit for now.
Villarreal, on the other side, comes from a 5:1 defeat away from home against Barcelona last Wednesday evening. It was a game where they simply couldn't do more, but neither hoped a lot breaking their run of three consecutive victories and four matches without defeat.
Barcelona didn't rotate their squad a lot and it was obvious that they will come up as easy winners once Coutinho and Paulinho scored their goals at the start of the match. Messi added one near the end of the first halftime, while Sansone only temporarily reduced the deficit. Demebele ended the game well with two goals on his own, in a game where actually Villarreal looked more than decent - had number of their chances too, however the hosts did what is counting.
In the end, no doubt that the result comes a bit unfair for the visiting side. Villarreal now remained at sixth position with three points more than seventh placed Sevilla. They will be awaiting Real Madrid in the last round, so a victory here is pretty much needed.
Guests are set to play in 4-2-3-1 formation with Bacca as central striker. Castillejo, Raba and Cheryshev should be their offensive midfielders. Central back Ruben Semedo (4/0) won't be playing here, same as injured midfielder Ramiro Guerra (4/0). Guests should be playing in their best starting eleven.
Villarreal needs to secure that sixth position in order to get the direct placement to the Europa League group stage and I've got no doubt that they be able to overpower Deportivo here. There's some certain individual quality, while Villarreal didn't look that poor even against Barcelona - being surely in a decent momentum now.
