PICK OF THE DAY
Zwolle - Herenveen
Tip : GG3+ (both to score&over 2.5)
Odd : 2.10
FT : 3:2 WIN!!!
Heerenveen have closed the gap between themselves and Zwolle to six points after Tuesday’s visitors took all three points at home to Twente, while the hosts were heavily beaten at the home of the league leaders. Zwolle still sit fifth in the table on the same points total as champions Feyenoord, while Heerenveen occupy eighth spot and are hoping to move back into the top seven with a win on Tuesday night. Zwolle had been one of the more consistent performers this season, unlike Heerenveen whose fans have been frustrated by their teams inability to pick up points in games they ought to have been winning. However, the tables have turned ahead of the pairs head to head on Tuesday, with Heerenveen aiming for a third straight league win and Zwolle hoping to avoid four defeats on the run in all competitions.
Back in November Heerenveen played host to Zwolle, where the pair met for the first time this season. An early goal from Vlap looked to have handed the hosts a half time lead, but the visitors scored a forty-five minute equaliser through Freire that made John van ‘t Schip’s half time team talk a lot easier. Whatever the Zwolle manager said clearly worked wonders for his side, as just four minutes after the restart Saymak put the visitors 2-1 up. As much as the hosts tried, an equalising goal never arrived and Zwolle pinched a win, when perhaps a draw would have been the fairer result.
Heading into Tuesday nights latest encounter between the two clubs, it’s the visitors Heerenveen that claim the title of form favourites after they picked up three wins, two draws, and just a single defeat from their last six matches in all competitions. Zwolle have managed two wins from their last six matches, but with four defeats as well, the chances of the visitors taking something from the game look very good. Five of the last seven encounters between Zwolle and Heerenveen have witnessed both sides get on the scoreboard, while the two clubs have also produced over 2.5 goals in five of those seven games.
Saymak top scores with seven league goals this season for Zwolle, while teammate Mokhtar has six and will also be very dangerous going forward. Heerenveen are still waiting for one of their strikers to hit a rich vein of form, as Thorsby and Veerman remain their Eredivisie top scorers, with four goals apiece.
We’re confident that this game will feature over 2.5 goals and see both sides score, as this fixture has, in recent years, ended the very same way. Heerenveen have form on their side, but they are yet to prove that their tag of being ‘inconsistent’ has finally been removed. We’re backing the visitors to claim a narrow 2-1 win tomorrow as they have a good record against their hosts and have started 2018 brightly.
