PICK OF THE DAY
Espanyol - La Coruna
Tip : GG (both to score)
Odd : 1.80
FT : ??
The new coach Clarence Seedorf has been struggling since taking charge as the Dutchman is yet to see his new team scoring a goal. La Coruna made it three defeats on the trot (two under Seedorf) losing narrowly to both Real Betis and Deportivo Alaves in the last couple of rounds and they will be hoping to arrest the current slump on Friday evening when they are to open the Matchday No 25 at home against Espanyol.
A serious turnaround in form is required for Depor if they want to grab themselves the survival lifeline given that the safe zone is three points away at this stage. Espanyol’s defensive woes should give opportunities for the hosts to end the negative form in the final third. The Budgerigars have shipped a goal in each of last six games across competitions and they are by no means impressive on travels in this term of La Liga.
The team, led by Quique Sanchez Flores has won just one of last 11 away matches in Primera Division shipping two or more goals in four of last five matches on the road in the league. They’ve also had a dreadful campaign so far in the season since the team with ambitions of challenging the European spots sits only 16th after 24 rounds of the competition.
When it comes to their head to head encounters, both teams have been very effective and last three H2H meetings saw both teams finding the net. The hosts are in a situation that must start attacking and pursue the goal which have been missing in their last three encounters, while this will give the opportunity to Budgerigars with contra-attack to score. Therefore, our prediction is both teams to score.
