PICK OF THE DAY
Spartak Moscow - Sevilla
Tip : GG (both to score)
Odd : 1.75
FT : 5:1 WIN!!!
Spartak Moscow are not enjoying the best of seasons so far, but despite this their Champions League hopes remain as in tact as you would expect, considering they share a group with Liverpool and Sevilla.
The former of these two sides is the one helping the Russians out. Their last Champions League outing saw them claim a point at home to Liverpool, and with both of the teams drawing their opening game as well, this leaves them level on points as they vie for qualification.
Spartak Moscow have started to improve domestically as well. They have won their last two games and are now unbeaten in nine games in all competitions, but the fact they have only picked up 20 points from 13 league games shows how difficult they’re finding this season.
Sevilla are performing pretty much as you’d expect across the board. They did lose 1-0 at Athletic Bilbao on Saturday, but that is just their second defeat of the season in all competitions and their four points in the Champions League puts them top of the group.
The Spaniards have won four of their last six in all competitions, but their defensive record in the Champions League doesn’t breed confidence in their back line. They have conceded in 12 of their last 15 trips away in the Champions League, scoring in nine of them.
Sevilla have improved their performances in the competition over the last couple of years, but they’re facing a Spartak Moscow side who have scored in all of their home games this season and in four of their last five home games in the Champions League. Given the visitors defensive record in the Champions League backing Both Teams to Score at 1.75 looks a good choice, but Sevilla have undoubtedly looked impressive this season so we’re going for a 2-1 win for the visitors as well.
